How to Take Menoprogen? What Are the Multiple Uses of Menoprogen?

1. If you have one of the symptoms listed below, you need to consider taking Menoprogen (Woman's Cap).  The symptoms are: foggy thinking, hot flashes, insomnia, weakness and fatigue, hip or joint pain, dry or wrinkly skin, nervousness, vertigo, headache, heart palpitations, and a lack of sexual desire. If you are in peri-menopause, menopause, or post menopause and are age 40-60 years old; you need to take 2 pills before a meal in the morning and 2 pills before a meal at night, for 3-4 months.  Most women will experience an improvement in their symptoms within a few days.  Our patients include physicians, physicians' wives and physicians' friends, and all are convinced of its effectiveness.

2. After 3-4 months, you may decrease the dosage to one pill two times a day, again in the morning and at night, right before a meal. We do this to try and reduce your costs.  When the dosage is decreased, a few women will experience a return of hot flashes, but not any of the other symptoms. If this happens, you need to report this to us.  We will add an additional herbal formulation to your therapy.  Because everyone is different, you may have a different response to the herbs.  If you are not comfortable with the relief you experience from taking the herbs, you need to contact us.  The best way to reach us is by email; then you can describe your symptoms and concerns, and we can help you figure out the best dosage for you.

We understand that it is often easier to self medicate, but we want everyone who uses this herbal medicine to have the best results.  This means that we are dedicated to your health and want you to communicate with us when you needed.  It is our responsibility to serve you better, and it is our patients' responsibility to communicate with us.  We are very aware that every person is different.  For example, we have two patients who started taking the herbs as described; but they felt that they were not responding well to the herbs.  One of them was experiencing stomach discomfort from taking the herbs.  She contacted me, and we adjusted her dosage to one pill a day at mealtime. Now she no longer has the discomfort, and she is experiencing relief from her menopause related symptoms.  Two other patients were concerned about taking the herbs because they are very sensitive to everything.  So we discussed an alternative dose for them, again taking one pill per day with a meal.  Both these patients experienced an immediate relief of their symptoms.

3. Based on our clinical experience, we have combined Menoprogen (Woman's Cap) and HRT in only one case thus far because this is what we found worked best for this particular patient.  When she stopped taking the HRT and started the Menoprogen, her symptoms returned; this scenario did not mean that Menoprogen would not work for her.  Since HRT was administrated for a long period of time, she needed  time to boost her body's ovaries to produce endogenous estrogen with Menoprogen only.  After a discussion with us, she began using both the Menoprogen and a lower dose of the HRT.  So far this has worked well for her.  Once her body can produce endogenous estrogen sufficient to manage her menopausal symptoms, she can stop taking HRT after consulting her physician.  We are not against the use of HRT; our concern is what is best for our patients.

4. Menoprogen is made from five well-known "herbal food" extractions, which works by nourishing the ovarian tissues and restoring the diminished ovarian functions, therefore, boosting the quality and quantity of follicles.  These follicles then may produce sufficient endogenous estrogen and other hormones in the menopausal women, leading to hormonal balance.

The herbs used in Menoprogen are:  wolfberry, sea kelp, hawthorne berry, safflower, and mulberry fruit.  Unlike soybeans, these plants do not contain phytoestrogens.  The major components in the raw herbal materials of Menoprogen are polysaccharide and flavonoids.

Menopause is ovarian decline to produce endogenous estrogen.  Although it is not an illness that needs treatment, menopause does cause physical discomforts that need management.  Menopausal women are treated as if they were sick when given the HRT (hormones of synthetic origin) as a therapeutic remedy.  Recently, the relative and absolute risks of using HRT were reported.  HRT is external estrogen that will make your ovaries completely shut down. A high risk of cancer has been linked with the synthetic estrogen supplement.

We would emphasize that Menoprogen stimulates the production of endogenous estrogen that is boosted by your own body.  Menoprogen is NOT a resource to provide extrinsic (this word may need to be explained/replaced to provide clarification to your patients) estrogen of plant or animal origin. One way to prove that Menoprogen has no extrinsic estrogen of either synthetic, plant or animal origin is anecdotal.  If you take synthetic estrogen, you may see spotting.  This is what your Ob/Gyn doctor will tell you.  But when you take Woman's Cap, you will not see spotting; you will either have your period or you will not, but there will be no spotting.  Menoprogen is a natural herbal medicine without phytoestrogens.  As always, if you have a family history of cancers or other complications, you need to consult with your physician first.

Also, we have conducted a clinical investigation on the effect Menoprogen has on the endometriosis.  It was found that the women who take Menoprogen for more than one year have no endometrial hyperplasia that was confirmed by an ultrasound.  This fact suggests that Menoprogen does not contain any hormones of synthetic and plant origins. Extrinsic hormones may promote the endometrial hyperplasia.

5. We also find that when Menoprogen is combined with Happy Mood herbal formula, many women report very positive results. People who suffer from fibromyalgia find that their minds are sharper, and they feel more focused.  These patients also report that they are not depressed and are more productive.  Patients report feeling like "their old selves" again.  Many women stay on Menoprogen for a long time because the Menoprogen and Happy Mood formulas maximize their ability to think and do things at this very busy time of life.  The best management for the long term is to find the lowest dose that maintains your emotional and physical balance.

6. We have seen many infertility patients.  In 2004 we have 5 patients who were able to conceive.  One of them is a physician's wife.  Most of them used our special herbal formula Baby Boom I and Baby Boom II in addition to Menoprogen, acupuncture and a special diet.  Since Menoprogen works on the ovary and pituitary glands, we combined Menoprogen with Baby Boom I and Baby Boom II, and that has worked very well.  Three of our 5 patients used this cocktail therapy. The other two women did not want to take any herbs and were give acupuncture only.  Several patients had one ovary that hardly produced any eggs.  After using Menoprogen and Baby Boom I and II, the ovary now  produces eggs, as seen by their Ob/Gyn doctor's ultrasound.  These patients are not pregnant yet as there are additional medical complications, but at least their ovaries are able to produce eggs.

7. We have a man who came in and asked if there is any herb for him because his wife has been taking Menoprogen with good results.  I told him to try Menoprogen, plus another single herbal formula to see.  He also told me that his wife didn't know about this, and asked me not to tell.  He took two combined herbs for about 2 months.  One day, his wife came in and asked for Menoprogen and that single herbal formula.  I realized that she must know now, so I asked "How is everything is going on with both of you?" She replied with a smile, "Everything is going very well with us.  Thank you so much!"  Recently I asked her how her husband takes the herbs.  His daily regimen is one pill of the single herb in the morning and one pill of Menoprogen in the evening.

8. Many women have been taking Menoprogen; we are seeing a very interesting phenomenon.  Their faces look beautiful; they look like they have gone to the beauty salon, and some of them lost weight, especially in the waist area.

9. There is nothing that is for everything. We had two patients who were allergic to Menoprogen.  After taking the Cap, their skin had red spots.  We had them stop taking it immediately. Again, it is our responsibility to serve you better and it is our patient's responsibility to communicate with us as soon as posibble.
